Schnelle & Festliche Apfelmus mit Zimt und Nelken

Ich habe gerade geschrieben 9 verschiedene Rezepte für Latkes und 5 Rezepte für Dips und Cremes. Aber wo ist der Apfel-Sauce, meine Lieblings-Würze für Latkes? Latkes ohne Apfelmus???? NOOOOOO!!!

Entspannen. Hier ist eine schnelle (wir sprechen 20 Minuten max) und festlichen Apfelsauce. Es ist reich, sweet from the apples and a little brown sugar, tart from a hint of lemon juice and delicious from cinnamon and cloves. It smells as wonderful as it tastes.

If you use sweet apples, you may not need sugar at all. I only add tart green apples so I added 1 Tbs. of brown sugar. You can adjust it to your own sweet taste. I usually buy unsweetened apple sauce so I didn’t need a lot of sugar. I like the look and the taste of some peel in my sauce so I didn’t worry about getting every bit of peel off.

This recipe has just 6 Zutaten. No added apple cider or apple juice. What for? To make it taste like apples? That’s what the apples do! My Fast and Festive Apple Sauce is so delicious, I may never buy jarred apple sauce again. Genießen!

Schnelle & Festliche Apfelmus mit Zimt und Nelken

4 große Äpfel, geschält, entkernt und gewürfelt


1 Tbs. extra-natives Olivenöl


½ TL. Zimt


¼ TL. gemahlene Nelken


1 Tbs. brauner Zucker


1 tsp. Zitronensaft

Prepare the apples. Heat the oil in a small saucepan. Saute the diced apples in the oil for 3-4 Minuten. Add the cinnamon and cloves. Cover the pot and let cook until the apples are tender, über 15-20 Minuten. Add water, notfalls. When the apples are tender, decide if you want to add sugar. If you do, start with ½ Tbs. of brown sugar and use up to 1 Tbs. Cook until the sugar dissolves. Schalten Sie die Hitze. Einrühren 1 tsp. of lemon juice. Abkühlen lassen. Refrigerate if you want to eat it chilled.

    I was going to make one of your wonderful latke variations tonight. Ach, I didn’t have time, but I did have time to make this, which was a lovely side dish to a take-out entree. There’s enough for tomorrow night’s latkes. 🙂

    I got a Vitamix for Chanukah last year but I haven’t used it yet. I like doing things by hand. I hate gadgets other than my TofuXpress 🙂 Thanks for the tips!!

    If you have a Vitamix you can toss the washed, entkernt (but not peeled) apples in it with just a tiny bit of water to get it going. Voila in 30 seconds you have apple sauce. A little lemon juice will keep it from going brown and 1/2-1 tsp of cinnamon will make it sweet. Yum! If you have a dehydrator any leftovers can be made into fruit leather.
