Let me tell you two things you may not know about me. The first thing is that I have always been a reluctant tea drinker. The only time I ever drank tea when I was younger was when I was sick and my mother forced me to. When I got older, I liked the tea they served in Chinese restaurants but other than that, I preferred coffee to tea. More recently, however, I have come to like tea more. Maybe it’s living up in Hudson Valley where it’s colder or maybe it’s because I’ve gotten to experience teas that are made from fresh tea leaves rather than supermarket brands. I still prefer coffee but I drink tea more often now.

The second thing you may not know about me is that I am a certified Crystal Healing Practitioner. I liked crystals back in my younger years but they came back into my life recently. I help out a friend of mine who has a lovely store with unique, handmade and one of a kind items called Woodstock Reveries (by the way, join the mailing list and you get coupons for savings on purchases plus access to special promotions). The store has a big collection of rocks, minerals and healing crystals so I made it a point to learn about them. Well, long story short (I know, too late), I was hooked. I came to love the crystals and set about to formally study the art of crystal healing and now I am certified (certifiable too but that’s a different blog post).

One of my favorite topics withing crystal healing is chakras. Chakras are centers of energy in our bodies and consciousness. Each chakra influences a different part of our bodies/minds and has specific crystals, colors, herbs, sound frequencies and other properties associated with it. We have 7 chakras from root to crown. I think the chakras resonate with me because they feel similar to a lot of psychoanalytic theories I have studied with the goal being a balance of energy within us.

So when I first heard about Chakra Teas made by Buddha Teas, I felt like two parts of my world converged into something wonderful. I wrote to Buddha Teas and they generously sent me the entire Chakra Tea Bundle – 7 types of herbal tea, each related to a different chakra.

Buddha Teas offers a huge selection of pure, organic, herbal teas. They use only organic ingredients, without any filters or added flavoring. Each tea is packaged in unbleached tea bags so there are no chemicals and their boxes are 100% recycled.

Buddha Teas offers many types of single-herb teas as well as amazing tea blends. I could spend the next year trying all the different types and there would still be many left to try. Some of the teas are ones people are familiar with like green tea, black tea and chamomile while others are uncommon and different like bilberry leaf, damiana leaf, and yellow dock root tea.

Chakra Teas are made with herbs to help enhance spirituality and enlightenment. They are infused with actual healing crystals (infused meaning the herbs are placed around the crystals for a period of time).

Root Chakra Tea

The Root Chakra, the first chakra also known as muladhara, is the chakra of stability. It provides grounding, centering, stability and a connection to the earth. Root Chakra Tea is a strong herbal blend of dandelion root astragalus root, raspberry leaf, hibiscus flower and cloves. The tea is then infused with garnet, a deep red stone of regeneration, passion and vitality.

Sacral Chakra Tea

The Sacral Chakra, the 2nd chakra also known as swadhisthana, is the chakra of creativity, sexuality, friendship, and relationships with others. Sacral Chakra Tea is a blend of marigold, fennel seed, burdock root, dong quai, damiana and ginger. This tea is infused with moonstone, a crystal that offers protection and healing, and inspires calm.

Solar Plexus Chakra Tea

The Solar Plexus chakra, the 3rd chakra also known as manipura, is the center of our emotional being. It affects our will, self-control and perception of one’s self. Solar Plexus Chakra Tea (which is my favorite of the 7) is a blend of rosemary, marshmallow leaf, lemongrass, ginger and orange peel. It is infused with citrine, a crystal known as “The Merchant’s Stone” and “The Success Stone” which brings good fortune and increases focus and personal energy.

4th Chakra Tea

The 4th Chakra is the Heart Chakra, also known as anahata. It is known as the chakra of love – not just romantic love but all types of love including self-love. 4th Chakra Tea is a blend of hawthorn leaves and berries, lavender, jasmine and hyssop. This tea is infused with rose quartz, the crystal that brings unconditional love and compassion.

5th Chakra Tea

The 5th Chakra is the Throat Chakra, also known as vishuddha. This chakra is the center of communication. It helps us express our thoughts and feelings and speak truth. It is also a chakra that brings calm and eases fears. This is the chakra that I am most drawn to, whether to the color (blue) or crystals (sodalite and lapis lazulli). I am a Taurus and the throat is also considered the vulnerable area of the body for this zodiac sign. The 5th Chakra Tea is a blend of licorice root, marshmallow leaf, fennel seed, orange peel and cinnamon. It is infused with aquamarine, the crystal known as the stone of courage and inner peace.

Third Eye Chakra Tea

The Third Eye Chakra is the 6th Chakra, also known as the ajna. It is the chakra of intuition, focus, knowledge and helps us with decision-making and seeing things as they truly are. Third Eye Chakra Tea is a blend of eyebright, jasmine, spearmint, star anise and passion flower. The tea is infused with sapphire, a crystal that reflects creative expression and offers hope and mental clarity.

Crown Chakra Tea

The Crown Chakra is the 7th chakra, also known as sahaasrana. The Crown Chakra is the chakra of understanding, self-knowledge, spiritual awareness and enlightenment. Crown Chakra Tea is made of a blend of lavender, nutmeg seed and rose petals. It is infused with amethyst, a purple stone of calm, peace and tranquility.

Each of these teas is soothing and delicious. As Buddha Teas says, “Whether you’re seasoned in the world of the seven chakra or whether you’re just starting to dip your toes in practices such as yoga or meditation, these teas are right up your alley. We invite you to enlighten your mind and spirit with the gratification offered by these unique and flavorful organic Chakra blends.”

In addition to the Chakra Teas, Buddha Teas also offers premium blend teas that offer healing inside and out – Calm Buddha, Cold Weather Karma, Digestive Nirvana, Divine Immunity, Pure Mind, Skinny Buddha, Sleepy Temple, Zen Cleanse and Zenergy. I can’t wait to try these blends too, especially Skinny Buddha and Divine Immunity.

Wow never come across Buddha Teas. Interesting read, I felt there was a spiritual awareness emanating from you. I have a few crystals but know very little about them. I had one brought me for Christmas to help lift the energies around me. I understand the chakras but didn’t know you could buy tea for each chakra, so looking forward to seeing if I can get some over here in the UK and try them. I have been doing some clearing work myself with my chakras, I work with different energy and spiritual tools so very interested in this type of information and reading. Thank you

    Love and Blessings
