Hoy, May 26th, is National Blueberry Cheesecake Day so it’s the perfect day to sing the praises of Sirabella’s Vegan Cheesecake.

Crecer, my mother always made cheesecake with ricotta and cream cheese. Todo el mundo le encantó. I wasn’t a fan of cheesecake; it was too tangy for my not-yet-grown-up taste buds. Since I’ve been vegan (encima 7 years now), I’ve come to like vegan cheesecake much more than any dairy-filled one.

So I was excited when the generous people at Sirabella’s wrote to me, saying they were developing a vegan cheesecake and offered to let me try it.

The founders, Marc Sirabella and Avi Strauss, were motivated to develop a vegan cheesecake that tasted like the real thing because people (including the founders) who are vegan, lactose-intolerant, allergic to eggs or dairy or were just making healthier choices, were all missing out especially at family gatherings.

Sirabella’s New York style Cheesecake uses dairy-free and eggless ingredients to create a vegan cheesecake that looks and tastes just like a traditional cheesecake. Por supuesto, it has no cholesterol and only about half the calories of that traditional version.

The vegan cheesecake comes shipped frozen in special packaging so it actually stays frozen. It comes in a traditional bakery style box so it’s perfect for sending to friends or family as a gift. The cakes are vegan, kosher and contain no preservatives.

Cuando nuestro vegana pastel de queso estilo Nueva York llegó, estabamos emocionados. Parecía cremosa y rica y que no podía esperar a probarlo. La compañía dice que sirve 12 pero mi marido lo ve de otro 🙂

Una vez que se descongela, ponemos algunos arándanos frescos en la parte superior y la terca. Mmmmm! El queso era rica, grueso, cremosa y taaaan bueno! Picante pero no sobre la parte superior picante. Fue increíble! No sólo saben como pastel de queso tradicional, que sabía mejor!

Y, por supuesto,, es mejor, ya que está libre de crueldad.

Desde Tom ama los arándanos, Tomé el resto para hacer una compota de arándanos para verter sobre la tarta de queso. Es rápido y fácil (ver receta a continuación).

Eso tomó la tarta de queso a un nuevo nivel de delicias. Usted puede hacer su propia compota o simplemente pedir la tarta de queso con ella lo que el único trabajo que tiene que hacer es ser paciente hasta que la torta se descongela. 🙂

Estilo de queso vegano de Nueva York Sirabella es decadente y deliciosa. Que delicioso? Digamos que nunca debe asistir a otra reunión familiar sin traer uno (al menos uno) de estos pasteles de queso con usted. Nadie va a creer que es vegetariano pero convencerlos porque queremos que todos sepan que la comida vegetariana es increíble.

Blueberry Compote

2 pints fresh blueberries

1 Tbs. jugo de limón fresco

¼ cup sugar

Una pizca de sal kosher

1 Tbs. arrowroot (opcional)

To make the compote: Combine the blueberries, zumo de limón, azúcar, and salt in a saucepan. Llevar a ebullición, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 acta. The compote will thicken, especially after it cools. If you want it thicker, add the arrowroot powder and stir until dissolved.

    I recently ordered one for my daughter’s 20th birthday. I am so excited to present it to her. She is the one who motivated me to try a plant based diet. I have been vegan for about 9 months now and I feel so good about my choice! I have made a vegan cheesecake and it tasted good, but the texture was definitely lacking in comparison with the dairy version.
