Hoje, May 26th, is National Blueberry Cheesecake Day so it’s the perfect day to sing the praises of Sirabella’s Vegan Cheesecake.

Crescer, my mother always made cheesecake with ricotta and cream cheese. Todo mundo adorou. I wasn’t a fan of cheesecake; it was too tangy for my not-yet-grown-up taste buds. Since I’ve been vegan (sobre 7 years now), I’ve come to like vegan cheesecake much more than any dairy-filled one.

So I was excited when the generous people at Sirabella’s wrote to me, saying they were developing a vegan cheesecake and offered to let me try it.

The founders, Marc Sirabella and Avi Strauss, were motivated to develop a vegan cheesecake that tasted like the real thing because people (including the founders) who are vegan, lactose-intolerant, allergic to eggs or dairy or were just making healthier choices, were all missing out especially at family gatherings.

Sirabella’s New York style Cheesecake uses dairy-free and eggless ingredients to create a vegan cheesecake that looks and tastes just like a traditional cheesecake. Claro, it has no cholesterol and only about half the calories of that traditional version.

The vegan cheesecake comes shipped frozen in special packaging so it actually stays frozen. It comes in a traditional bakery style box so it’s perfect for sending to friends or family as a gift. The cakes are vegan, kosher and contain no preservatives.

Quando o nosso vegan Estilo Cheesecake New York chegou, fomos animado. Parecia cremosa e rica e não podíamos esperar para experimentar. A empresa diz que serve 12 mas o meu marido discorda 🙂

Uma vez descongelado, nós colocamos alguns blueberries frescas no topo e cavou na. Mmmmm! A cheesecake era rico, thick, cremosa e muuuito bom! Picante, mas não por cima picante. Foi incrível! Não só gosto como cheesecake tradicional, que provei melhor!

E, claro,, é melhor porque é livre de crueldade.

Desde Tom ama mirtilos, Peguei o resto para fazer uma compota de mirtilo para derramar sobre o cheesecake. É rápido e fácil (veja receita abaixo).

Isso levou o cheesecake para um nível totalmente novo de delícias. Você pode fazer seu próprio compota ou apenas pedir o cheesecake com ele assim que o único trabalho que você tem a fazer é ser paciente até que o bolo descongela. 🙂

Estilo Cheesecake Vegan New York do Sirabella é decadente e delicioso. Que delícia? Vamos apenas dizer que você nunca deve assistir a outra reunião de família sem trazer um (pelo menos um) destes cheesecakes com você. Ninguém vai acreditar que é vegan, mas convencê-los porque queremos que todos saibam que a comida vegan é incrível.

Blueberry Compote

2 pints fresh blueberries

1 Tbs. suco de limão fresco

¼ xícara de açúcar

Uma pitada de sal kosher

1 Tbs. arrowroot (opcional)

To make the compote: Combine the blueberries, suco de limão, açúcar, and salt in a saucepan. Leve para ferver, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 atas. The compote will thicken, especially after it cools. If you want it thicker, add the arrowroot powder and stir until dissolved.

    I recently ordered one for my daughter’s 20th birthday. I am so excited to present it to her. She is the one who motivated me to try a plant based diet. I have been vegan for about 9 months now and I feel so good about my choice! I have made a vegan cheesecake and it tasted good, but the texture was definitely lacking in comparison with the dairy version.
