VeganMoFo is two-thirds done and so far it’s been so much fun. A lot of work but also a lot of fun. Being part of a group of over 700 bloggers all promoting the same cause gives this lone cook a great sense of community. It’s amazing how many people are out there making delicious Vegan food and posting it for the world to see.
Seriously, there is NO way any Vegan could ever get bored or say they don’t know what to eat. The internet is flooded with thousands of ideas, links and recipes.
Besides winning a coupon for a free package of Sophie’s Kitchen Breaded Vegan Fish Fillets in one of VeganMoFo’s everyday giveaways, I have become a follower of a bunch of blogs that I never before knew existed. Everyday I check out a couple more from the blog roll and leave comments (because we all know how important those comments are) on blogs I really like.
So what could be better than winning Vegan Fish Fillets and discovering hundreds of incredible Vegan blogs? Winning an award from someone (actually, THREE) in this wonderful community! Don’t Fear the Vegan, a blog that is also doing the alphabet theme (because great Vegan minds think alike), Lisa is Raw on $10 a Day and The Tie-Dye Files bestowed the honor of The Liebster Award upon me.
Now I will pay this forward to some bloggers whose work I truly enjoy. Amazing recipes, beautiful photography and entertaining stories.
“Liebster” is German and means ‘dearest’ or ‘beloved’ but it can also mean ‘favorite’.
The idea behind this award is to bring attention to bloggers who have less than 200 followers and show your support during Vegan Mofo!
The rules of winning this award are as follows:
1. Show your thanks to those who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2. Reveal 5 of your top picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Post the award on your blog.
4. Enjoy the love and support of some wonderful people on the www!
I have to give an honorable mention to Heathen Vegan. I love this blog but they have (at the time of this writing) 222 followers so they (fortunately) don’t qualify. So I’m sneaking them in the back door 🙂
This is the 2nd award The “V” Word has won. Last April, I was given a “One Lovely Blog” award by it’s a Greyt Vegan Life, a blog I still enjoy following (read their very important post about pets and domestic violence).
Watching the number of followers slowly creep up and seeing how people are more interested in my Richard Gere essay than my recipes is fun. I love reading people’s comments and seeing them share my recipes on Facebook. Having my Onion and Apple Relish Tofu chosen for one of VeganMoFo’s roundups is flattering but it’s always extra special to get such a sweet type of recognition and approval from my peers.
They like me. They really, really like me!
