About Rhea
Hi! I am a vegan and a strong animal advocate for over 13 years. Becoming vegan is the best thing I have ever done in my entire life. Every being deserves to live their life in peace and safety. When I became vegan, there were no places in my Bronx neighborhood to eat so I had to learn to cook, mostly from watching cooking shows on TV. That led to the creation of The "V" Word blog which focuses on vegan versions of favorite, familiar foods. Any food can be made vegan and if you can have the foods you love, the foods you crave, the foods you grew up with, all in a compassionate, cruelty-free way, why wouldn't you?
Through Benny & Me Gifts that Give Back, I have donated over $10,000 to over 60 animal rescues and sanctuaries. Our gifts are handmade and cruelty-free. Please shop with us to help us help more animals.
Born and bred in The Bronx, I share my life with a rescued Westie mix named Benny. We are both survivors of domestic violence and we now live upstate in Western NY. It is my hope that I can spread the "V" Word to bring more compassion into the world.
I have several e-cookbooks you can purchase. Just ask. I have also written hundreds of articles for One Green Planet.
Enjoy the recipes and please shop with Benny & Me Gifts that Give Back.
I wish I had one of each right now! This is the best Superbowl menu, but…goooooo Pats!
Glad you all like it. Go Giants!!!
The mozz sticks are on my Super Bowl Day menu, along with chickpea burgers. And I will be rooting for the Giants, since NE knocked my Broncos out of contention 🙁
Holy cow is an understatement, Rhea! How about holy great whales, or something bigger that can live out its life because we’re all vegans! Love that your menu is cruelty free. Bon chance to Baby Boy Manning and the G-Men! With fans like you, no way they can lose!
Holy cow, are you really making all of that food for Super Bowl Sunday, Rhea? How many people do you have coming over? Preparing that menu would keep a small catering company busy for days!!
Seriously, some of these dishes look great, and I can’t wait to try them out!! Good job! And I hope your Giants win for you. 🙂
